Aiguebelette Parapente’s ‘Discovery’ introductory flight lets you experience paragliding over Lake Aiguebelette with no prior experience required. Tandem with a state-certified instructor (DEJEPS) from the Aiguebelette Parapente school, you’ll enjoy a tandem paragliding flight that’s both reassuring and spectacular, lasting between 10 and 20 minutes, in the morning or afternoon, depending on weather conditions and how you feel.
Who is the ‘Discovery’ introductory flight for?
Here, you don’t need to be particularly fit or have flown before. The ‘Découverte’ paragliding taster flight is designed for anyone who wants to experience the thrill of free flight in the best possible conditions.
Our flights are suitable for adults as well as children aged 6 and over (with the Children’s Tandem Flight for those up to 12 years old), holidaymakers looking for an outdoor activity in Savoie, anyone curious to try their first flight, or those seeking a great gift idea. It’s the perfect format for a first experience: long enough to enjoy the scenery, simple enough to stay relaxed, and memorable enough to make you want to do it again!

What happens during the Discovery flight?
After a short journey in our minibus from the Vertes Sensations base, right next to the motorway exit, you’ll have a briefing with your instructor, who will fit you with a harness and a helmet at the L’Épine take-off site at an altitude of 1,150 metres. You’ll then take off gently after a few steps with your instructor on your back, strapped to you, as the wing lifts. You’ll take flight without any sudden movements. You’ll soar over the Aiguebelette area in a contemplative atmosphere, surrounded by water, hills and natural light. You don’t have to do a thing: just settle in, breathe and take it all in.
You land in the ‘des marais’ landing area, not far from the departure car park. All that remains is to share your excitement with your loved ones and your instructor, then walk back to the car park.
What options are available with the introductory flight?
The Discovery paragliding experience at Lake Aiguebelette is, above all, a sensory experience, combining the tranquillity of the heights with a sense of wonder. For those who fancy a bit more excitement, a few aerobatic manoeuvres can be arranged on request, depending on the passenger’s preferences and the conditions on the day, at no extra cost. Please don’t hesitate to ask your instructor – they’re there to ensure you have YOUR own unique and exceptional experience!
You can also ask to take home photos and videos of your first flight ( transferred to your phone). Your instructor, equipped with a selfie stick and professional camera gear, will capture your first flight. Price: €20, to be paid on the day of the flight to the instructor you’ll be flying with.
