How do I book a flight with Aiguebelette Parapente?

Choose your introductory flight based on your preferred flight duration, then select the date and time from our available slots.

Booking is done online via the website with a credit card payment held on file; we only take your card details at this stage. Payment will be taken once the flight has taken place.

Please note that no cancellations via email or voicemail will be accepted without our written confirmation. If a cancellation is made without our consent, please be aware that the flight will be charged.

What happens during a paragliding taster flight?

Allow an hour and a quarter for your first-time paragliding experience. It includes:

1. Transport by minibus to the take-off site
2. A briefing and preparation at the take-off site
3. The flight with an instructor
4. Landing and return to the starting point

Meeting point for the flight:

On the day of your tandem flight, please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled flight time at the Vertes Sensations base, our outdoor sports partner, located at 405 Route d’Aiguebelette, Nances (73470).

At the motorway exit (exit no. 12 Lac d’Aiguebelette), take the first exit on the right at the roundabout. Parking is free. Please note that high tourist numbers at weekends and during July and August may cause delays when accessing the car park. Walk to our partner Vertes Sensations’ base. Go to reception, where staff will tell you where to wait for us.

Shuttle bus to the take-off point at the Col de l’Épine

We take participants in our own Aiguebelette Parapente minibus (we do not transport accompanying guests). The journey takes around 25 minutes and takes you to the La Province – L’Épine take-off spot at an altitude of 1,150 metres, above Novalaise.
After a short briefing, the instructor will fit you with the passenger harness and helmet, and off you go!

Tandem flight over the natural lake of Aiguebelette

Depending on the introductory flight you’ve chosen and the weather conditions, you’ll fly for between 8 and 45 minutes over Lake Aiguebelette, with the L’Épine mountain range behind you, the Chartreuse massif to the south, the plains of the Avant-Pays Savoyard to the west and the Jura massif to the north.
Feel free to ask your pilot if you fancy testing your limits with aerobatics and manoeuvres. At Aiguebelette Parapente, we tailor your flight to your preferences!

The right flying gear

Remember to bring a good pair of trainers or high-top hiking boots that support your ankles, for your own safety. Pack some warm clothes as the temperature can drop by 5 to 10 degrees in the air.

We recommend sunglasses to protect you from the sun’s rays whilst flying. However, please do not wear a cap or

hat: we’ll provide you with a safety helmet. You can keep your prescription glasses (or sunglasses) on during the flight.

If you are prone to travel sickness, please feel free to take homeopathic remedies or other preventative treatment; a paragliding flight can sometimes cause nausea.

Landing by Lake Aiguebelette

You’ll finish your tandem flight at the ‘Des Marais’ landing area, not far from the Vertes Sensations car park. It’s just a short walk back to your car and your companions. Share your experiences and take home a memento with the photo and video package, which you can purchase from your instructor after your flight for €20.

Paragliding, in complete safety

Please note that paragliding is a high-risk sport; you must be in good physical condition, and the professional instructor reserves the right not to take off if they consider you unfit to do so. As you are taking part in a sporting activity, you must follow the instructor’s instructions at all times to ensure the tandem flight proceeds safely.
