A family-run paragliding school in the heart of Lake Aiguebelette

Based in Novalaise, in the Savoyard Avant-Pays region, Aiguebelette Parapente is one of Savoie’s long-established paragliding schools, deeply rooted in its local area. Founded on 1 May 2005, our school offers paragliding flights set against a backdrop of the lake, countryside and Alpine peaks, in a rural setting to which the whole team is very attached.

An adventure born out of Marie and Pierre Pugnot’s passion

Aiguebelette Parapente was founded in 2005 thanks to the drive of Marie and Pierre Pugnot. Together, they have nurtured the school’s growth, turning it into a true life adventure – almost a ‘fourth baby’. This family-run background still sets the tone for the school today: here, we foster a close-knit atmosphere, trust, a willingness to listen and the joy of making guests feel welcome, with just as much emphasis placed on human connection as on the sport of paragliding itself.

A small school that has grown without losing its soul

Initially, the school was run by Marie and Pierre, plus one or two other instructors. Year after year, it has developed without compromising what makes it unique: a flexible, local and accessible structure, where everyone retains their individuality and commitment. Today, the team at Aiguebelette Parapente comprises six state-qualified instructors, two secretaries and two shuttle drivers, enabling it to provide both solid supervision and a high standard of service, whilst remaining true to its identity as a small Savoyard school.

Introductory flights and paragliding courses throughout the summer season

Aiguebelette Parapente offers both paragliding taster flights in Savoie and paragliding courses to learn to fly. The tandem flight season runs from April to October, whilst courses take place from April to November.
