Performance paragliding course in Savoie
Take your paragliding to the next level with Aiguebelette Parapente
The performance course is an advanced stage in a pilot’s development. It allows you to complete your training by learning to handle your wing (inflating it if conditions permit) and to refine your piloting techniques, particularly in extended flights using dynamic lift and thermals, in rapid descents, in approach techniques and in weather analysis.
The Level 3 performance course can prepare you for the B licence / Pilot qualification, over a 5-day weekday course.
In practical terms, this course is aimed at pilots who already have some flying experience (around 20 flights completed) and who wish to develop a more refined, active and independent approach to flying. This is no longer an introductory course or a simple refresher course: here, we begin to focus on the quality of piloting, reading the conditions and the ability to plan your flight more effectively.
The performance course programme
Checking reflexes on the first morning
The course begins with a skills check on the training slope to assess reflexes, body movements, wing inflation and the quality of take-off preparation. This refresher is essential before moving on to more technical exercises.
5 days of practical exercises and thermal flying with 2 instructors
Morning flights focus on exercises in calm conditions, to work neatly on flight paths, approaches, positioning, rapid descents and technical manoeuvres without overloading the glider.
In the afternoon, the focus shifts to thermal flying, to help trainees develop a better feel for air masses, make the most of thermals and build more accomplished flights.
Who is this performance course for?
The performance course is designed for pilots who have already completed an introductory and progression course and who wish to take a significant step forward in their flying. It is aimed at those who want to fly better, feel more at ease in different flight situations, improve their flying in wind, thermals and during technical phases of flight, and achieve or consolidate their independence.
It is particularly suitable for pilots who are starting to gain experience, who have already completed at least 20 flights, and who wish to prepare for the next stage of their training with a higher level of rigour.
This Level 3 course can prepare you for the B licence.
Why choose this performance course in Aiguebelette?
Choosing the paragliding performance course in Aiguebelette means opting for a structured programme designed to help you make tangible progress, without rushing things. The combination of ground and in-air work helps improve the pilot’s overall technique, rather than simply stringing together flights. Mornings in calm conditions are used to establish a solid foundation, whilst afternoons in thermals open the door to a richer and more active flying experience.
