Weekend paragliding progression course in Savoie
Spread over two consecutive weekends, this format allows you to progress at a gentle pace, in a supervised, practical and reassuring environment, in small groups of no more than seven people.
Progress at your own pace over two weekends with Aiguebelette Parapente
The progression course is aimed at pilots who have already started their training and wish to continue their learning to achieve greater autonomy, improve their technique, analyse weather and aerological conditions, and prepare for their initial licence, for A1 and A2 licence levels.
This weekend version follows the same structure as the progression course, but is tailored for those available on Saturdays and Sundays. It differs from the 5-day weekday progression course in its pace and a more directly practical approach: here, there is no theory, as the aim is primarily to continue gaining experience, practise the correct techniques and learn by doing in calm conditions.
The weekend progression course programme
A refresher on the basics on the first day
The programme includes a session on the training slope to brush up on the essential basics on the ground: preparation, wing control, body positioning, technique and the quality of the take-off. This technical refresher is essential for re-establishing the right reference points and improving the fluidity of your movements.
Two consecutive weekends to practise with two instructors
The course centres on flights in calm conditions, including ‘splash-down’ flights, to gradually build a degree of autonomy in calm conditions. Each flight helps to reinforce muscle memory and improve management of take-off, flight path, approach and landing, always within a highly supervised framework. Unlike the week-long course, this weekend version does not include any theory lessons: all the focus is on practical work, experience and repeating the correct techniques.
Who is this Weekend Progression course for?
This course is aimed at pilots who have already completed a paragliding taster course and who wish to continue progressing without necessarily committing to a full week. It is particularly suitable for those who wish to pick up where they left off in their training, undertake supervised flights again, build confidence and move towards their first simple and relaxed independent flight.
It is well suited to pilots looking to progress, with the opportunity to qualify for the A2 licence / AFVL initial licence, aim for a degree of autonomy in calm conditions, and continue their training towards Level B, equivalent to the AFVL pilot’s licence.
