SIV paragliding course in Savoie
Master Flight Incident Simulation with Aiguebelette Parapente
What is the SIV course?
The SIV course is a piloting course conducted in a controlled environment. It takes place over Lake Aiguebelette and is tailored to each participant’s motivation and skill level, featuring exercises focusing on rapid descents, wing control following flight incidents, low-speed control and stalls. For some pilots, the course may even lead to access to aerobatics.
The SIV course programme
3 days of incident simulations with 2 instructors
The SIV course takes place exclusively over Lake Aiguebelette, allowing participants to train in a secure environment with a safety margin appropriate for this type of exercise. Our SIV courses are led by Pierre Pugnot, who has nearly 20 years’ experience in this highly specialised type of course. The course runs for 3 days, organised within a 5-day window from Monday to Friday. When weather conditions are favourable, the course may finish on Wednesday evening; otherwise, Thursday and Friday serve as reserve days to complete the planned programme.
Who is this SIV course designed for?
The SIV course is aimed at experienced pilots who are independent, hold a Brevet B / Pilote licence, and wish to take their technical mastery of their wing to the next level. Trainees must have completed at least 50 flights to take part in the SIV.
Mandatory check of personal equipment
This course requires you to have your own equipment. However, this will be subject to a mandatory check; please do not hesitate to contact the office to discuss this before you arrive for the course. This rule contributes to the overall rigour of the course and the priority given to safety, both in terms of equipment and instruction.
