Change your flying terrain and experience a new flying adventure in the Southern Alps

What is the Itinerant Course?

The travelling course is an advanced training programme that combines the best of a progression course and a performance course, but with an added dimension: travel and adapting to a variety of geographical and weather conditions.

This immersive, itinerant course takes place over 5 days in the autumn, in the Southern Alps, in a friendly atmosphere with shared meals and nights spent in a gîte or on a campsite. The Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region still offers lovely autumn days right up until the end of October, with plenty of sunshine and often mild temperatures.

The Itinerant Course Programme

5 immersive days in the Southern Alps

The travelling course runs over 5 days. It includes travel in the Savoyard paragliding school’s minibus with two accompanying instructors, 5 days on site with shared accommodation and meals, and daily flights over different terrain within a radius of approximately 50 km from the base.
Once there, the flights follow a structured teaching programme:

  • Mornings are devoted to flight exercises, with a focus on calmer, more technical work to develop precision, positioning, flight paths and muscle memory.
  • Afternoons focus on thermal flying, to help you learn how to make the most of the conditions, extend your flight time and develop a more active flying style.

Supervision is provided by two instructors, with close guidance throughout the different phases of the day, in keeping with the school’s advanced courses.

Who is this travelling course designed for?

The travelling course is aimed at Level 3 pilots who have already moved beyond the basic stages of initiation and foundational development. If you want to enrich your experience, fly at different sites and progress towards a more mobile and comprehensive approach to the sport, this immersive course is for you!
It’s an ideal option for those who want to step outside their comfort zone, discover different terrain, different wind conditions and different ways of flying. It’s particularly suited to pilots who enjoy back-to-back days of flying, making progress at a variety of sites and experiencing a course that’s more immersive than a simple week in Savoie.

Mandatory personal equipment check

This course requires you to have your own equipment. Your gear will be subject to a mandatory check by our instructors before use. This rule contributes to the overall rigour of the course and the priority given to safety, both in terms of equipment and supervision.

Why choose this touring course?

Choosing this travelling paragliding course means opting for a particularly comprehensive programme designed to help you progress quickly. Changing locations, flying every day, practising manoeuvres in the morning and thermalling in the afternoon allows you to experience a variety of flying situations in a single week. It’s an excellent way to broaden your understanding of conditions, improve your adaptability and build your confidence in different terrains.

It’s also a very appealing option becauseit combines skill development, travel, a friendly atmosphere and the chance to explore the Southern Alps.
